Study note

Setting — A great multitude, having just declared that the Lord reigns (v. 6), now turns to the marriage of the Lamb. The speaker is the assembly of the redeemed, addressing God directly.

The words — ἀγαλλιῶμεν (agalliōmen) is a stronger verb than the preceding χαίρωμεν (chairōmen); it carries the sense of exultation, a step beyond ordinary gladness.

The thread — The bride's preparation is restated in Revelation 21:2, where the new Jerusalem comes down "prepared as a bride adorned for her husband." The invitation to the marriage supper follows immediately in Revelation 19:9.

Why it lands — The verse is an imperative directed at the reader: join the rejoicing and give glory. It also asserts that the bride has already made herself ready, a claim about the church's completed state rather than a future hope.
