נָסַס nâçaç
Meaning
to raise a beacon
In the King James Version: lift up as an ensign.
Derivation: a primitive root; to gleam from afar, i.e. to be conspicuous as a signal; or rather perhaps a denominative from H5251 (נֵס) (and identical with H5263 (נָסַס), through the idea of a flag as fluttering in the wind);
Where it is used
- Psalms 60:4 You have raised a banner for those who fear You, that they may flee the bow. Selah
- Zechariah 9:16 On that day the LORD their God will save them as the flock of His people; for like jewels in a crown they will sparkle over His land.
