Ecclesiastes
- Who
- The Preacher, son of David — traditionally Solomon. The Hebrew is late, so many read it as a later writer speaking in his voice.
- When
- Disputed, from the tenth to the third century BC.
- What it is
- An honest account of looking for meaning in work, pleasure, wisdom and wealth, and finding each one thin.
- What to watch for
- It is in the Bible and it does not resolve. Read it beside Proverbs, which it argues with.
