Daniel 7:14

And He was given dominion, glory, and kingship, that the people of every nation and language should serve Him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and His kingdom is one that will never be destroyed.

Study note

Setting — Daniel reports a night vision in which a figure like a Son of Man approaches the Ancient of Days and is granted authority. He is not addressing an audience; he is recording what he saw.

The words — שָׁלְטָן (shalTan) means "dominion" or "authority," the kind exercised by a ruler over a territory. יְהִיב (ye.Hiv) is the passive Hiphil of נתן, "it was given," marking the grant as bestowed rather than seized.

The thread — Daniel 7:27 restates the same transfer of sovereignty to the saints; Daniel 2:44 and Revelation 11:15 echo the indestructible kingdom.

Why it lands — The verse does not invite the reader to feel secure; it asks whether they will serve a dominion that outlasts every human regime.
